Project description

Restauraion

Twenty Venetian marionettes – some in original 18th century costumes made from cut-offs of linen, silk and lace – representing both well-known stock characters and others, used to mount marionette performances of plays from the theatre. The puppet bodies and mechanisms were repaired and reassembled where possible. Original costumes were mended and some new costumes, made from historic textiles, were created in order to better present them in the Ca’ Goldoni Museum.
